125,
I'm puzzled too. I just got one and it's really a fun robot. I'll be putting up a video some time today.
I do know that at least in the USA, it's not being distributed as widely as the Roboraptor was. |

Thanks!
You mean their new Flash based site? Yes it's really slick. However, you can't bookmark it unless you type Ctrl-D! The flash player takes over the right click menu.
What do you think of it? |

125,
I agree, but I've never seen WoWee cross promote like that. The Green Roboreptile is from Discovery Store. When the Roboraptor was raging, I thought the coolest looking one was the Black (Platinum) Roboraptor, also by Discovery Store. WowWee never pimped it.
Are you going to get a Roboreptile? |

He's alot of fun eh? I'm going to have to go pick one up. What things can he do that the roboraptor can't do? |

R2D2 is fully voice controlled. Have you looked at the new RSV2 Media coming out next? That's the robot I've been looking for. I'm not sure why it's not offered here in the US yet??? |

So far the RS Media looks like a much more solid robot and the ability to customize it will add to many hours of fun.
The RSV2 is a great robot but is limited on what can be customized. It also does not walk well on Carpet. It does fine on regular floor though. The vision system was disappointing because you have to have very exact lighting for him to see colors. It would have made sense for them to add a light on to his head but there are mods out there to do this yourself.
RSD2 is a fun robot. He plays games like laser tag and spin the bot. He will also react in different ways to various Star Wars characters. The laser tag is fun because you can play in the dark because he uses infrared to find you. When he does he shines his light on you. His main limitation is that he is slanted backwards and his infrared sensors have not been designed to compensate for this. As a result he can not see an object at wheel level. Another thing to always remember, if you play with him at the top of a steps he's gonna go down those steps eventually. No edge detection. So never leave him unattended on the top floor. He still might even go over the edge before you catch him. |
