Hey guys .
Just in case some of you have not worked it out yet. You can speak through the sound system of Rs Media by a couple of methods. 1 Connect a stereo cable to the 'line in' jack on Rs, connect the other end of the cable to the stereo line out or headphone jack of a hi fi. Now connect a microphone to the microphone jack on the hi fi. Set your hi fi to mic out, lower the volume to almost the minimum . Enter media mode on Rs then select options, select line in, select on. Turn off the speakers on the hi fi. Turn on the microphone and SLOWLY turn up the volume while talking into the microphone until you hear your voice. Do not get the microphone too close to Rs as feedback will occur and damage Rs Media's speakers. It is not a good idea to have Rs walk around but you can still move him carefully so you do not pull the cable. 2 This is the more expensive but mobile version. You will need to purchase a very small FM radio (some mp3s have it built in) and an FM transmitter microphone (like the ones used by speakers at conferences and seminars). Now comes the fun part. Plug in the head phones into the Fm radio (don't forget to plug them into you). Following the instructions on the microphone ,set the frequency on the microphone and Fm radio (usually around the 88.0hz area) so that the radio can pick up your voice without much interference. Set the volume control on the radio to low. Replace the head phones with a stereo lead (this will also act as an aerial on some radios). Plug the other end of the lead into the 'line out' jack of Rs. Follow the instructions above on Rs to activate his 'line out'. Now securely attach the fm radio to Rs (rubber band works for me). Try to leave the cable lose as this will help to get better reception for the radio and microphone. Hey presto a walking talking mini you. Sometimes if you do not activate Rs for a while he will temporarily turn off his speakers. All you need to do is push the 'M' button and you will hear yourself again. Have fun. |

Great tip! That's also a really great way to have fun with friends, family, and pets by "throwing your voice" like that.
Let's call it the Ventriloquist Trick. |
