roboid,
Only Mark Tilden knows for sure and I haven't seen any comments from him yet about it.
The only thing I can think of is because their most concerned with the P-bot being a super balancing robot, so the wheels on it's hands in combination with the balancing technology they licensed from Segway, would allow it recover from almost any situation (my opinion). |

I was talking to Mark Tilden on a chat room and he said that they are there to help the robot get back on its wheels if it would fall over. He said if the robot falls on its side, the robot will move its arms at a high pace untill it went on it back or front. Then it uses them to pick itself up.
But the P-Bot was cancled in manufacturing due to the fact that it would cost to much. It will be quit a while longer before we get our mini segways. |
