|
|
| I am able to access the Bank of Personality to download a script into the Script Bank in the Transfer Module. However when I try to play the script it will not play the downloaded script as it will only play the script in the Script Editor. My question is how do I transfer from the Script Bank to the Script editor so that I can execute the downloaded script or make modifcations to it? What am I missing? |

robojon,
That is strange. When you download a script, it should automatically be dropped in to the Script Editor. However, I am wondering if you are getting a prompt to save the script in the Script Editor, and that is preventing the downloaded script from being put in to the Script Editor (this would happen if the script in the Script Editor had been modified and was not saved yet)? Sometimes those pop-up dialog boxes get buried.
Here's a test. Restart Robodance and leave the Script Editor "empty". Then try downloading a script from the the Script Bank and see what happens. |

Robert,
I still have the same problem. I start Robodance and the as the first thing I download a script in to the script bank. I then select the script editor and it is blank. If I then go back to the scrip bank and select 'Play Script' at the bottom of the page, the robot will not perfom any commands just like what is in the script editor (nothing). I cannot get the contents of the script bank to go into the editor or get the robosapien to play the dowloaded script. Any ideas what I may be doing wrong? |

robojon,
I don't have any ideas yet. I'll have to take a look at it when I get back in town at the end of this week. |

I have the same problem as robojon.
All other aspects of the program seem to work fine, but when I click on PLAY after downloading a script from the bank of personalities, it plays whatever is in the script editor, not the downloaded script. If the script editor is empty, Robosapien simply replies by saying 'stopping'.
I am running Robodance under Windows Vista.
Do you have any idea of the problem yet? |

robojon,
Are you running Vista too? If so, I'll poll the mailing list to see if this is a Vista problem. I can't duplicate the problem on my PC and never had any complaints in this are before. I don't have Vista to test on. |

I have now installed Robodance 4 on two other computers, both laptops, to see if it works OK on these, but these have exactly the same problem. One is running Windows XP and the other Vista.
I have also noticed that the File menue in the Transfer window does not work. When I click on it, the drop down menue shows save, load, exit and recent but only the exit option has any effect whether there is a script in the window or not. I assume I should be able to save and load from the transfer window?
In the script editor window, I can save and load scripts normally.
So, I now have it installed on three diferent computers and all three have the same problems. |

oris,
List the robot model you are using currently. Then try choosing a different robot than the one you are using, even if you don't own it, and run your test with that robot. |

| Ok thanks for testing. I'm not having the problem so it's going to take a bit of work to try and figure things out. I'll have to wait until I get some free time from work first. I'll update everyone soon. |
