Scare him frist... by putting your hand infront of his face quick
and once you scare him
put the ball infront of his vision camera , and hold it still,
he should recognize it and say soemthing like GREEN BNALL, or hey my BALLL , lets BOWL!!
their is a PDF for trouble shooting on the robosapienv2onlilne.com website, not the actual manual, but a trouble shooter guide for stuff like that, and also walking and lighting for his vision
I recomend you read it

I just made my V2 hold the ball at his fingertips instead of in his hand (fingers closed). And guess what, he finally hit the pins! Not always but at least more than he used to. Next I set up the pins slightly to the right but still within view of the V2. Now he threw the ball far off to the left. Doh!
However, I'll try to find another ball and try that as well later on...
